I must say this handset is so interesting though a little extraordinary. Nokia 7705 Twist has a very unusual square form factor that swivels. For the time being this phone is exclusive to the Verizon network in the US.

The Nokia Twist is a device with 3G capability that sports a 2.4-inch QVGA (320 x 240 pixel) display which is capable of rendering up to 262,000 different colors. It weighs about 98g and is 69mm square in size. Bluetooth support for headsets and stereo headphones is also supported.

Although this is a very different looking handset, Verizon says that the Twist should be available from September 13th onwards at just under USD100 after a USD50 rebate. The catch is you need to sign up a 2 year contract.

Billed as Nokia’s “most rugged mobile phone”, Nokia 3720 is getting ready to join the ranks of dust and water resistant phones. Nokia 3720 Classic is IP54 certified, meaning it’s dust and splash resistant. Although not as resilient as some phones such as the Sonim XP3 or the Samsung B2100, the Nokia 3720 Classic should survive most things you throw at it.

Nokia 3720 Classic is a smart looking mobile phone, it is at least much more “normal” looking than some other rugged phones.

This phone is good if you need to pick it up to call for help after having fallen into your bathtub but don’t count on making any phone calls or even sending text messages from underwater – this is because the radio waves may not reach deeper than a few inches below the surface.

A combination of stainless steel and leak-resistant panels give this phone a discrete air of toughness, rather than making it look like a brick. Anyway, I think the most obvious thing on this phone is the screw lock that keeps the battery compartment shut.

Although the screen is not quite as good and the case looks a little more plasticky, but the Nokia 2700 Classic offers everything that the 6300 does… with a much cheaper price tag!

The Nokia 2700 classic phone combines the functionality and user experience required in today’s hectic lifestyle, with a nice design and material that makes the mobile phone the most beautiful, well built and competitively priced.

Measuring only 109 x 46 x 14 mm and weighting only 85g, this phone’s size will satisfy its most skeptic users. This mobile phone comes with a 1020 mAh Li-Ion battery, offering a talk time up to 6.00 hours and providing standby time of 288 hours.

The Nokia 6208c is Nokia’s first few touchscreen phone, launched following N97 and 5800 XpressMusic. However, unlike the previous two models, the 6208c is not a smartphone – instead it runs on the S40 operating system which is more commonly found on midrange and low-end devices.

This mobile phone is made primarily for the Chinese market. The touch screen on the Nokia 6208c is optimized to write Chinese characters and messages in the most natural way, with a stylus. The design of the stylus, attached to the back of the Nokia 6208c phone, is inspired by bamboo slips and works perfectly with the large color display.

Let’s check out the handset’s features. The Nokia 6208c sports a 2.4″ QVGA touchscreen display, standard 3.5mm audio port, and a microSD card slot for additional storage. As with almost all Chinese phones, this is a GSM-only handset, supporting GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 with GPRS and EDGE data.

Below are quick glance at the specs.

Network: GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900
Data: GPRS + EDGE
Screen: 240 x 320 pixels, 16m colours
Camera: 3.2 megapixels
Size: Medium monoblock 110 x 49 x 13mm / 120 grams
Bluetooth: Yes
Infra-red: No
GPS: No
Memory card: microSD
Polyphonic: Yes
Java: Yes
Battery life: 3.5 hours talk / 12 days standby

This looks like an entry level phone for most people, especially those who use Chinese as the primary language. Give it a try!

The Nokia 5730 XpressMusic is the first music-optimized cellphone to offer a full QWERTY keyboard for easier messaging. Very closely related to Nokia E75, this phone is an S60 smartphone with 3.5G support, WiFi, GPS and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The real highlight for the Nokia 5730 XpressMusic is the Homescreen for XpressMusic which provides access and dynamic information on music, people, games, email and the calendar.

The Homescreen features an improved contacts bar with up to 20 friends and family members and provides direct access to music, N-Gage and other applications, such as Facebook, Photos, Ovi Contacts, Maps, messaging and more. Usefully, the 5730 XpressMusic comes with an 8GB microSD card, and it even has dedicated media keys.

The 5730 has a better stills camera compared to Nokia E75, using Carl Zeiss optics, but the maximum video capture rate at 640 x 480 pixels is only 15 frames per second, half that of the E75.

The 5730 has access to Nokia’s new Music Store and can share files on Ovi. It’s quite a heavy phone at 135 grams, and it measures at 112 x 51 x 15mm.

The Nokia E63 is essentially a cut-down version of the existing Nokia E71. It is a 3G smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard and WiFi, aimed generally more at consumers than business people, and with a significantly lower price tag.

Some obvious features that the E63 shares with the E71 are the QWERTY keyboard and the 2.36 inch QVGA display. As with the E71, the E63 is a 3G phone with WiFi support, microSD expandable memory, email and VPN support, a web browser, multimedia player, an FM radio and the Symbian S60 operating system. I have to admit I particularly love its email and VPN support.

Both handsets can use Nokia’s Ovi service, and E63 even has enhanced file sharing capabilities.

Given the success of the Nokia E71, we see no reason why the Nokia E63 should be any different, potentially swaying users who didn’t fancy learning a BlackBerry operating system or the E71′s higher price… especially when you consider that it is also much cheaper than the Nokia 6500 Slide and Classic handsets.

Nokia N79 is a newly launched entertainment-focused candybar mobile phone. The design is quite similar to Nokia N85, which was also announced just recently, although it comes with a more stylish focus.

For those worried about matching their mobile phone with their outfit when they hit the streets, three Xpress-on smart covers are included with Nokia N79. With the ability to change the covers and the phone’s themes, you will look cool everyday!

In typical S60 fashion, a lot of the core functionality from older models remain, while new and improved features are seamlessly integrated. The Nokia N79 runs on Symbian S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2, and as expected there are a lot of things that remind one of older models with the same operating system.

Video can be edited on the N79 directly and photos can be geotagged to specific locations. The N79 comes with a combination of three Xpress-on smart covers of either Light Sea Blue, Espresso Brown, Olive Green, White and Coral Red.
