Stylish waterproof phone, FOMA F703i
After a day’s of tiring work, if you can have a comfortable hot water bath it will be heavenly enjoyable. Better still, if you can use your handset and chit-chat with your friend, or surf porn on the Internet, won’t this be great? But be careful, don’t drop your handset into the bathtub!

Look at me enjoying some light moments with my waterproof mobile in my bathtub.

But, worry not… there’s actually a waterproof handset coming your way. Fujitsu Limited from Japan has just introduced their new super sleek waterproof handset NTT DoCoMo’s FOMA F703i, which can be used in your bathroom while you are bathing, in the kitchen while you are washing your dishes, in the swimming pool while you are swimming… ah you get the idea; all without worrying about getting the handset wet!

Have you heard about FOMA before? I have never heard about it until I came across this pretty waterproof handset, Foma F703i. FOMA is the name of NTT DoCoMo’s 3G W-CDMA network in Japan. Closely related to the UMTS networks found worldwide, FOMA was actually the first 3G network in the world, and as Japan is often a good place to look for upcoming technologies, NTT DoCoMo’s range of FOMA handsets can be interesting to look at.

The NTT DoCoMo’s FOMA F703i proves that a waterproof phone can also be a stylish one. Fujitsu have created the F703i to be waterproof, and claims that it can be totally submersed to a depth of one metre for thirty minutes.

The F703i follows the currently fashionable trend of having hidden lights and a display under the sleek surface. The F703i sports a 2.2-inch 260k color QVGA TFT LCD with 240×320 pixel display, a 1.3 Megapixels camera and a 0.1 Megapixels secondary camera for video calls, microSD expandable memory (with a maximum capacity of 2GB), and a multimedia player and i-mode support. The Memory can be expanded with the addition of larger microSD card, and be used to store more music (the F703i supports Napster and Chaku-Uta Full).

But, the F703i doesn’t support Bluetooth. As is common with FOMA device, the F703i is a Symbian 3G smartphone.

At 109 grams and 100 x 48 x 18 mm in size, the F703i is a pretty conventional size and weight for a modern 3G phone. Standby time is up to 17 days with around 2.5 hours of talktime.
Interesting phone indeed…
