Made-in-Malaysia PDA phone — Dallab DX8i

Dallab Sales and Marketing Sdn Bhd recently launched a made-in-Malaysia PDA phone called the Dallab DX8i. It is a quadband Pocket PC phone powered by Intel Bulverde PXA272 (416Mhz) processor. The PDA phone is housed in an elegant metal, chrome and plastic body, and it’s available in 2 colours : black and silver.
DX8i is teeming with contemporary handset properties such as a 3.0 megapixel camera, 2.2″ QVGA LCD screen with touchscreen support, FM Radio, MP3 Player, WiFi, MicroSD memory expansion slot, SDIO Card Slot, Bluetooth 1.2, and Standard mini-USB connectivity.
The DX8i is a full-fledged PDA that runs on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Phone Edition operating system. Instead of bulky QWERTY keyboard, the DX8i uses a alphanumeric keypad. The PDA phone is very powerful for both work and play functions as it using 416MHz Intel XScale processor.
Thanks to it’s 2.2″ QVGA LCD screen, the DX8i has very great outlook. The screen is capable to producing 262K colours at resolution of 320×240 pixels. This huge LCD screen provides user a very good and sharp pictures and text on screen. The phone’s 3-megapixel camera means that you can snap highly detailed photos too.
To enable faster Internet connection, the DX8i which has only GPRS/EDGE data connectivity, also come with on board WiFi adaptor that allows it connect to WiFi hotspots and home/office wireless networks.
Dallab claims the phone has a maximum talk time of four hours and a maximum standby time of 150 hours. The Dallab DX8i costs RM1,888, which puts it in the same league as other high-end smartphones and PDA phones.
