The Worst Products of Q4 2006
The last three months of 2006 brought quite a few forgetful products. Most of them came from the software and gaming categories, though a couple of consumer electronics products also managed to get into the mix. PCMAG.com is in their effort to inform users of the clunkers of each quarter, here they bring you the bottom 16 products from October 1 to the present. Each of the products listed here received a rating of 2 or below (on a scale of 5, which is the best).
Max Secure Spyware Detector 2.0
Category: Security Software/Antispyware
Pros: Scanning is very fast after initial full scan. Removed most malware in testing.
Cons: Limited ability to block the installation of spyware on a clean system. Display of found threats is awkward. Confusing terminology.
Bottom Line: Max Secure Spyware Detector 2.0 is speedy and reasonably good at cleaning up infected systems, but poor at keeping spyware out of clean systems.

Tomb Raider: Legend
Category: Console Games
Pros: Voice acted, full-motion cut scenes perform surprisingly well on the DS.
Cons: Weak integration of touch screen technology. Half-implemented 3D combined with the small screen
makes for shoddy control and hit-detection. Checkpoint saving system can be frustrating.
Bottom Line: If you really want to play Tomb Raider, try another console.

Eragon
Category: Console Games
Pros: Detailed graphics. Easy-to-learn controls.
Cons: Weak and repetitive gameplay. No freedom to explore or look around within the game.
Bottom Line: Even those who like the book and movie will be bored by this so-called action game. The visuals are nice, but there’s not much else to entice or excite players.
