By making the Motorola KRZR longer and thicker, Motolora wish to break away the new line of model from the RAZR family. Based on the GSM MOTOKRZR K1, the two MOTOKRZR K1m variants aim to bring the new KRZR styling to the world’s major CDMA markets. The new CDMA K1m is almost looks identical with GSM MotoKRZR K1 but they do differ on issues like cameras, battery life and some other features.

The K1m is differ according to places. For example, the K1m for the Americas gets a 1.3 megapixel camera instead of the 2 megapixel camera found in the Asian K1m and the GSM K1. Both versions will include touch sensitive music control buttons on the outer surface. For Asia version, the K1M includes exclusive upgrades like a high-resolution 320×240 pixel display and a larger battery. As such, the phone weighs a few grams more than the K1 and the Americas K1m. In spite of the larger battery, the K1m for Asia still has a shorter battery life than the Americas version – even though it lacks the EV-DO 3G support found on the K1m for the Americas.

There are some similar features for both version of MotoKRZR K1m, such as 25 MB internal memory, a microSD slot (maximums of 1GB), the ability to play audio formats like MP3/AAC/AAC+, GPS capabilities and an option for instant messaging. There is Bluetooth and JAVA, a video recorder and player too on both versions and supports H.263/MPEG4 formats.
