Panasonic X800
The Panasonic X800 is Panasonic’s second clamshell Symbian OS smartphone, after the X700. At just 17.2mm thin and 99g weight, the X800 is designed to fit your pocket. It’s definately slim and classy enough with glossy white exterior, and you can exchange the front covers as well to give a nice choice of refreshing looks. The triband GSM (900/1800/1900Mhz) X800 sports a VGA camera, Bluetooth, and GPRS connectivity.
A LED camera assist light is positioned at the left of the camera, and the external CSTN screen is located in the middle. The display is capable of showing up to 4096 colours at a resolution of 64 x 96 pixels. You can press a button on the X800’s side to view information like signal strength, battery strength, and network name.
There is a notable feature about the handset where it has a One-Push Auto Open where you only to press on the button to open your phone to answer a call. The spring-loaded mechanism of the One-Push Auto Open is powerful.
The X800 has a large internal display with 176×208 pixels TFT screen, with bright 65K colors, and it’s quite usable even in direct sunlight. The phone’s volume is adjusted via two of the four-way direction keys instead of the usual external button option.
The keypad is completely flush with the surface of the X800. The keys are well-spaced apart, but they are small. This is the common problem for most of the handsets.
The X800 is really similar to the Panasonic X700 in terms of features but with a new design. The document viewer based on Series 60 platform lets you view and edit document files created by Microsoft® Office (Excel,Word,PowerPoint® ).
The X800 comes preinstalled with a few applications. These include a To Do list, a calculator, converter, voice recorder, and clock.

The bad: Clumsy design; standard VGA camera; occasional menu slowdowns.
The bottom line: Although it’s tagged as a smart phone, it’s really just your normal phone with the addition of Quickoffice, coupled with unsavory controls that can be daunting to use.
