Samsung SCH-U620 Mobile TV Phone

Released for Verizon Wireless, the Samsung SCH-U620 is a simple slider phone with a few extra buttons on the side, but it is one of the first Samsung mobile phones to support Verizon Wireless’ VCAST Mobile TV service. There is a mobile television button to activate Verizon’s V Cast Mobile TV service.
The SCH-U620 is Integrated with Verizon Wireless’ VCAST service for Mobile TV, Video, and Music to watch TV on the go, catch the latest music videos, and listen to and download songs.
The SCH-U620 features a built-in 1.3 Megapixel camera with flash and self-portrait mirror. There are few opinion or reviews about the built-in camera.
PCMag
The U620′s 1.3-megapixel camera, equipped with the usual anemic flash, is pretty good as these things go. My sample shots were relatively bright and clear, and they didn’t have severe blurring problems in low light.
CNET Reviews
The 1.3-megapixel camera takes photos in five resolutions–from 1,280×960 down to standard VGA. Other camera features include a flash, a self-timer, color effects, white balance, a multishot mode, three quality settings, ISO, spot metering, and a choice of shutter sounds. The camcorder shoots clips with sound in two resolutions (320×240 and 176×144) and offers a choice of editing options similar to the still camera. Clips meant for multimedia messages are capped at 15 seconds; otherwise you should be able to shoot up to an hour of video.

Like the LG VX9400 mobile TV phone it competes with, the Samsung u620 also features a built-in1.3 Megapixel camera with flash and self-portrait mirror. But the picture quality is inferior to the LG’s. Photos usually have very noticeable brown cast, but that occasionally flips to an extremely cool color cast. The photos lack color saturation in both indoor and outdoor shots. Photos taken in direct sunlight look like they were taken at dusk. Lighter objects are whited out in both indoor and outdoor shots. Noise levels for a 1.3 megapixel camera are acceptable. The Samsung u620’s camera can take still images at 1280 x 960, 1024 x 768, 640 x 480 and 320 x 240 and photo caller ID resolutions.
The SCH-U620 features a vibrant two-inch QVGA 240 x 320 px LCD screen to view the VCAST Mobile TV streaming broadcasts.
The SCH-U620 is a fully-loaded multimedia device, supporting VCAST Music, Get It Now applications and Mobile Web 2.0. It also boasts stereo Bluetooth support for enhanced audio, a dedicated VCAST Mobile TV key and a retractable VCAST Mobile TV antenna.
The phone is comes with MicroSD external memory port to store pictures, videos, sounds and music and WAP 2.0 compliant browser with EV-DO for high-speed data transmission.

Reviews from CNET Reviews:
The good: The SCH-U620 is the first cell phone to support Verizon’s V Cast Mobile TV service. With excellent video performance, a 1.3-megapixel camera and camcorder, Bluetooth connectivity, and music playback, this is a full-featured multimedia phone.
The bad: Given that live TV is the big selling point, the external speakers could be more robust and the display could be larger. Also, the fairly drab design belies the SCH-U620′s cutting-edge factor, and the music and video playback could be a lot simpler.
The bottom line: The first of two phones that support V Cast Mobile TV, the SCH-U620 is a solid performer. But those looking for more flash may want to wait for the LG VX9400.
