Samsung has introduced a new mobile TV phone called Samsung SGH-P930, in the Italian market via Telecom Italia. This newest mobile TV phone incorporates not only the latest mobile TV technology, but it also combines HSDPA technology which enables high-speed data transmission.

The Samsung SGH-P930 has wide 2.3 inch (240×320 pixels) rotating QVGA LCD and supports Picture in Picture (PIP) function to watch two TV channels simultaneously. It adopts horizontal LCD screen for optimal mobile TV watching and supports stereo speaker for best sound quality.

The Samsung SGH-P930 offers a 2 Megapixel camera with 1600 x 1200 pixel focus for that sharp crisp shot and a VGA resolution camera for video telephony. A useful multi-shot and night mode facility again increase the functionality of the camera.

Samsung SGH-P930 phone provides 20MB on-board memory, and also supports a microSD external memory slot for better storage. There are a MP3-player and stereo speakers, Bluetooth and USB interfaces. In addition to 3G networking it can work under GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz) networks, including EDGE.

Measuring 107×49.2×19.7 mm, Samsung SGH-P390 weighs 119 grams. Its Li-Ion 950 mAh battery ensures up to 120 minutes of talks and up to 200 hours standby.

There are 3 various standards for mobile TV phone market: DVB-H in Europe , MediaFLO in the U.S, and DMB in Korea. Samsung is now leading these all 3 standards by supplying world’s first S-DMB and T-DMB phone in Korea, Europe’s first T-DBM phone in Germany, Europe’s first DVB-H phone in Italy and by successfully demonstrating the MediaFLO mobile TV technology at ‘CTIA Wireless 2006′in the U.S. market.
