Sony Ericsson K800i Camera Phone

Cyber-shot™ digital still camera and mobile phone - all in one.
The efforts of phone manufacturers to cram more and more megapixels into the lenses of the built-in cameras is nothing short of relentless. Samsung has hit 10-megapixels with its SCH-B600 phone, but that is of course no more than a technology statement and is only available in Korea.
The Sony Ericsson K800i brings the Cyber-shot branding that Sony uses in its digital cameras to a handset, throws in 3G video calling and data access, and bumps things up with Sony Ericsson’s well known capabilities in the music-playing area.
The K800i also boosts much other features such as a Web browser capable of using the 240 x 320 pixel screen in landscape as well as portrait mode, a RSS reader, FM radio, three nice games (one of which shows off the handset’s 3D rendering capability) and, it almost goes without saying, calendar and contacts applications which can share information with a PC. The phone package comes with the software and data cable for the user’s convenience.

Key features
- Xenon flash - real photographic light

This nice phone won Cnet Editors’ Choice Aug 2006 award, with an Editors’ rating of 8.3 out of 10. Let’s see what they have to say about the phone:
The good: The Sony Ericsson K800i offers solid features, superior photo quality, and excellent performance in a sharp, eye-catching package.
The bad: The Sony Ericsson K800i’s call volume was a tad low, and the navigation controls were squashed together. Also, menu navigation was somewhat sluggish.
The bottom line: With an amazing selection of features and great performance, the Sony Ericsson K7800i joins the company’s K790a as a superior camera phone.
